Personal Biography

With a passion for advancing in my career and diversifying my experience, I transitioned from a classroom teacher to an intervention specialist at Pittsburgh‘s oldest charter school. After three years in the role of intervention specialist, I then transitioned to the role of instructional support coach, where I offer additional support to novice teachers throughout the school year. I have taught in public, private, and charter schools throughout the city that are Title I qualifying institutions. I am now going on my second year as an Instructional Coach for the GNEP through the Office of Community Engagement and Affairs.

In 2023, I was a collaborator on a published article titled: The Power of Picture Books to Support Early Elementary Teachers' Racial Literacy in Communities of Practice: An Example from the 3Rs (Reading, Relationships, and Racial Equity). The article was published in the Early Childhood Education Journal. This research was prompted by the work and train of the Office of Child Development and their 3Rs initiative in schools throughout Pittsburgh.
