Race & …Commons series

“Without community, there is no liberation.”

— Audre Lorde —

The Race &… Commons series is a marquee convention platform that features regional change agents, interventions, and initiatives at the intersections of race and education, health, justice, and wealth. It advances the University of Pittsburgh’s Race and Social Determinants of Equity, Health, and Well-being Initiative's commitment to investigate and eliminate racial disparities in equity, health, and well-being locally, nationally, and globally through interdisciplinary engagement programs.

The Commons series champions the University’s vision of having a transformative impact on society through coalescing and supporting the diversity of our ecosystems in pursuit of innovative excellence in research, education, and praxis to improve lives, communities, and systems.
