Influences of the Conceptualization and Processing of Racial Stereotypes on the Intended Sexual Behavior of African American Early Adolescents

January 1, 2002 to January 1, 2007

This study will provide correlative and psychometric data on how girls perceive their racial group stereotypes for its potential impact on early sexual behavior. Three focus have been conducted and the resulting data are being analyzed. If possible, one more focus group will be conducted in September 2005 as an application is prepared for submission to the National Institutes of Health in either February or June 2006. One or two publications on the findings are planned as soon as data analysis is complete.
